Fall is here in West Virginia, so that means it’s time to enjoy fall festivals and grab a pumpkin from a pumpkin patch! In this post, we’re sharing the best pumpkin patches near Morgantown for adults and families.

Poplar Island Pumpkins 

Poplar Island Pumpkins is one of the newest pumpkin patches in the Morgantown area. Located near Fairmont, this pumpkin patch is back with expanded activities and more pumpkins! You can pick your own pumpkin and enjoy corn maze, hayrides, and baked goods.

FYI: Don’t let the road to get to the pumpkin patch fool you! You are on the right path and will make it to all the fall fun!

Black Cat Pumpkin Patch

The Black Cat Pumpkin Patch in Morgantown is the closest pumpkin patch to Morgantown. Here you can grab a pumpkin, shop for local snacks and crafts, and walk kids through a “not-so-haunted” cemetery and trail.

Duda’s Farm

If you’re okay with driving a little further from Morgantown, consider taking a day trip to Duda’s Farm for a full day of fall festivities! Duda’s Farm offers hayrides to their pumpkin patch for pumpkin picking are September 16 – October 31, 2023, from 11 am until 5:30 pm (open until dusk) $20 per person and kids under 2 are free. The price includes your pumpkin.

In addition to the hayride, you can enjoy a corn maze, pumpkins (brought in from the field), wagon rides, a concession stand (drinks, snacks, and/or food), bonfires, and more! Duda’s Farm is a great “one-stop shop” fall festival where you can enjoy picking your own pumpkin, a hayride, and a corn maze! After dark, the corn maze gets spooky for a haunted maze! This year, they are introducing a haunted hayride as well.

Rich’s Farm and Fright Farm

Located just before you pass into West Virginia, Rich’s Farm is another great farm near Morgantown that offers fall activities for families and adults. Kid’s Day at the Farm runs October 1 – October 31 (closed Mondays & Tuesdays, except Monday, Oct. 10 for Columbus Day). And admission includes a scenic hayride, pumpkin patch, corn maze, pumpkin decorating, and more!

At night, Rich’s Farm turns terrifying into Fright Farm, one of the largest and most popular haunted house experiences in Pennsylvania! Fright Farm is open on Thursdays to Sundays from October 1 to October 31.
