From light displays throughout downtown to drive-through shows to unique light displays, there are plenty of Christmas lights near Pittsburgh! In this post, we’re rounding up the best Christmas light displays near Pittsburgh so that you can fully experience to magic of the Christmas season!

Overly’s Country Christmas

November 17 – December 30, 2022

Overly’s Country Christmas is located in Westmoreland Country, just 1 hour from Pittsburgh. The drive-through Christmas light display is smaller than others; however, your admission includes entry to the Christmas Village. In the Christmas Village, you can do some shopping, eat, go on a horse-drawn carriage ride, and enjoy the lights from another vantage point! You can either drive through the lights and then enter the Christmas Village or just walk into the Christmas Village to view the lights without driving.

Overly’s offers some great spots for photos, a nightly bonfire, and visits with Santa! Make sure to take some time to walk through the model trail display as well! Parking is free on-site.

Admission: $25 per car for drive-through, $5 per person walk-through only

Hours: 5:30 pm-9 pm, 10 pm, or 11 pm, depending on the month and day

Kennywood Holiday Lights

November 19 – January 1, 2022

Like with Halloween, Kennywood transforms itself at Christmas for its holiday light display! Enjoy thousands of dazzling Christmas Lights as you explore the amusement park where several of the rides operate. The entire park is decorated so you can easily spend a whole evening walking around and enjoying the light display. During a visit to Kennywood’s Holiday Lights, check out the magic show, live music, ride the polar express, and visit with Santa throughout the evening.

Pittsburgh Zoo Lights Drive Through

The Pittsburgh Zoo Lights are one of the drive-through Christmas lights in Pittsburgh! This light display transforms the zoo into a magical Christmas wonderland. Enjoy holiday music as you cruise through the zoo and view the lights! Animals and buildings are not open during the Zoo Lights, but are visible during daytime visits in the winter!

Phipps Conservatory Holiday Magic! Winter Flower Show and Light

November 18, 2022 –  Sun., January 8, 2023

Phipps Conservatory’s Winter Flower Show is one of the top holiday things to do in Pittsburgh because it never disappoints! Enjoy an evening walking through displays of winter flowers, holiday-inspired scenes, and Christmas lights. The Winter Flower Show is one of Pittsburgh’s most popular Christmas light displays, so tickets must be purchased in advance. Parking is limited at Phipps, so plan accordingly.

Downtown Pittsburgh Christmas Light Displays

Downtown Pittsburgh offers a few locations to see Christmas light displays! You can visit Christmas lights in downtown Pittsburgh by visiting PPG Place Icerink and The Point State Park. Consider taking some time this holiday season to do a walking tour of the Christmas lights in downtown Pittsburgh. Start at the PPG Place Rink and view the Christmas tree and lights. Then, take a walk to Unity Tree on the old Horne’s building. Continue your walk to the Point and see the massive Christmas tree made of Christmas lights!

Carnegie Museum’s Christmas Trees

Every year the hall of architecture in the Carnegie Museum of Art is decorated with Christmas trees! Consider taking some time to enjoy the museum and the decorated Christmas trees on a snowy day!

Pittsburgh Botanic Garden Dazzling Nights

November 27, 2022 – January 1, 2023

Dazzling Nights at the Pittsburgh Botanic Garden is a new Christmas light show near Pittsburgh! This walk-through display covers 65 acres and will certainly dazzle your night! Enjoy strolling through the 60 ft. light tunnel and countless other displays. Food and drinks are available for purchase.

Parking is available on-site for $12 but is extremely limited; guests are encouraged to use the free shuttle service to the event.

Admission: $25 for adults and $22 for children. Children under 2 are free

Oglebay Festival of Lights

November 10, 2022 – January 8, 2023

The Oglebay Festival of Lights is one of the largest and most popular Christmas light displays near Pittsburgh. Located just 1 hour east of Pittsburgh in Wheeling, WV, the Oglebay Festival of Lights is a 6-mile drive-through light display! When you purchase your pass to the Festival of Lights, it is valid for the entire season! North Park’s Laser Light Drive-In

 December 9-22, 2022

If you’re looking for a more modern take on Christmas Lights, consider going to North Park’s holiday laser show! This 45-minute show uses lasers and strobing lights and syncs them with holiday music! Multiple shows are offered nightly Thursday through Sunday and tickets must be purchased in advance.

Admission: $20 per car

Hours: Friday-Saturday 6 pm – 10:30 pm; Sunday and Thursday, 6 pm – 9 pm

Location: North Park Pool Parking Lot

Shadrack’s Christmas Wonderland

This drive-through Christmas light display is located less than one hour from Pittsburgh in Bulter Country! Admission to the Christmas lights includes admission to the Christmas Village, where you can enjoy holiday treats and do some shopping.
