Zoo Lights
Our favorite thing to do during the holiday’s in Washington DC is going to the zoo! During the holiday’s, the National Zoo becomes a winter wonderland of thousands of holiday lights, all surrounded by the diverse animals living at the Zoo. Zoo Lights is open from November 23, 2018, to Tuesday, January 1, 2019, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Throughout the ZooLight season, there are live musical performances, a snow tubing area, Carousel, and Zoo Choo-Choo train.
National Christmas Tree and Menorah
In addition to the main tree, there are trees representing each United States state and territory! The ornaments on these trees are submitted by children and schools around the country. The National Christmas Tree Lighting is also open to the public.

Ice Skating National Sculpture Garden
During the rest of the year, the Sculpture Garden at the National Gallery is a place for peaceful reflection and appreciation of art. During the holidays in Washington DC, the Sculpture Garden becomes an ice rink!

Georgetown GLOW is a unique light show scattered around Georgetown. This public and outdoor exhibition is created by local artists and lightens up the community! Throughout the season, Georgetown GLOW hosts events.
Ice Skate at Washington Harbor
Located along the Potamic River, this ice skating rink is the largest in Washington DC! The Washington Harbor ice rink is a great place to enjoy the chilly weather with the people you love. Ice skate rentals and skating lessons are available! Themed skate nights are offered throughout the open season.
United States Botanic Garden
The United States Botanic Gardens put together a beautiful holiday themed, winter flower show. This inside and outside exhibit feature flowers and plants from around the world in addition to a massive model train exhibit! Every year the exhibition features a different theme showcasing an aspect of American culture.
Christmas Shows and Theater Performances
